AGBOWA COMMUNITY REJOICE AS ABOWA DAY 2023 WAS CELEBRATED UNDER OBA SAHEED OWOLABI MOMSON ABOWA OF AGBOWA IKOSI

 

History was made in Agbowa-Ikosi,on Saturday,November 11,2023,as the people of the ancient town celebrated their Annual Agbowa Day,under a new king,after 11 ( Eleven) years of traditional vacuum of not having a king after the demise of HRM Oba Joseph Akinloju Abolaji Odumeru in the year 2012.

While speaking at the two-in-one event: Coronation Ceremony and Agbowa Day,at Market Square,Agbowa;the Executive Chairman of Ikosi- Ejinrin Local Council Development Area(L.C.D.A),Hon. Akogun Wale Raji-Anomo,expressed his delight and congratulated the new Abowa of  Agbowa- Ikosi,HRM Oba (Barr.) Saheed Owolabi Momson ( Mabudeje Aduloju III),indigenes and all residents of the town on the two ceremonies of the day.

" Last year,at the last celebration of Agbowa Day,I prayed that by this year 2023, we would be celebrating this Day with the new Abowa on the throne of his fore-fathers. I'm grateful to God,and my heart is filled with joy that history is being made here,today,because that prayer has been answered.We have a new king that is also a technocrat. I pray that his  reign will bring rapid economic growth and infrastructural development" He said.

" When we are talking about good governance,our traditional rulers play a significant role in attracting developmental projects to their domains; and since our Kabiyesi,Oba Momson,emerged as the new Abowa,,he has been working with the State Government and our government. I have no doubt,that the relationship is going to be mutually beneficial,not only to Agbowa-Ikosi,but to all the good people of Ikosi -Ejinrin LCDA" He added.

The Council Chairman,his Vice,who is the Chairman,Agbowa-Ikosi Development Association (ADA),Hon. (Alhaji) Dehinsilu Wasiu;Olori Abimbola Momson;a very good friend of Oba Momson,who came all the way from Abuja,to grace the event, Chief Gbenga Awotunde; Alhaji Shamsideen Adekunle from Aledo Quarters,Agbowa-Ikosi; Oba Momson's brother 

Oba Momson's brother-in- law,Mr. Olufemi Ojo; heads of Momson Family ; and Mrs. Badewole Oluwakemi,have prayed for successful reign of the new Abowa,as they urged all his subjects to give him maximum supports. They also advised him to extend hands of fellowship to all those who contested with on the Obaship stool; in order to restore the lost glory of the ancient town,in no time.

Oba Momson,was very happy to say," I thank God and Gov. Babajide Olusola Sanwoolu,for approving my selection and all the good people of Ikosi- Ejinrin,for standing by me,I believe this will continue throughout my reign".
