In African societies, especially Yoruba land, coronation is a historic event that attracts guests, from far and near.
On Saturday, November 4th, 2023, there was no exception of that tradition at AUD Primary School Odo Egiri as His Royal Majesty, OBA MUSILU ABIOLA OLIWO THE ALADEPEKIN OF ODO EGIRI KINGDOM was crowned the paramount ruler of Odo Egiri Community, amidst pomp and pageantry.
The coronation ceremony was attended by thousands of people elegantly dressed, including the crème de la crème of the society, government officials, traditional rulers of prestige and reverence, notable sons and daughters of the kingdom, The Chairman of Eredo LCDA Hon Ismali Monsuru Akinloye, Chairman of Ibeju Lekky Hon Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, hon Wale Raji MHR, Hon Oluwadahunsi Silvester Oluwaseun, Oba of Odomola kingdom HON. MUSTAINU TOBUN, ALARA OF ILARA KINGDOM – HRM OBA OLUFOLARIN OGUNSANWO,

Speaking at the event, Hon Ismali Monsuru Akinloye expressed the delighted and wished the new monarch many happy years on the coveted throne as the ALADEPEKIN OF ODO EGIRI KINGDOM
While describing Odo Egiri community as impeccable, and the people as hospitable, the ceremony afforded Hon Ismali Monsuru Akinloye Chairman of Eredo LCDA Epe the opportunity to appreciate God and celebrate the traditional ruler whose reign would bring unimaginable peace, accelerated growth and lasting development to the community and its environs.
One of the highlights of the occasion was the arrival of Salawa Abeni Alidu and Alhaji Wasiu Alabi Pasuma who was on the bandstand to entertain invited dignitaries, sons, and daughters of Odo Egiri community.
According to the Chairman, Coronation Committee, Hon Wasiu Odeyemi Waztap, who disclosed this while briefing newsmen in Odo Egiri community, Epe Lagos State , said, the coronation was heralded by the glorious exit of OBA MUSILU ABIOLA OLIWO THE ALADEPEKIN OF ODO EGIRI KINGDOM from seclusion on Monday, accompanied by QUIZ COMPETITION.
He said, OBA MUSILU ABIOLA OLIWO THE ALADEPEKIN OF ODO EGIRI KINGDOM had completed the 90 days mandatory rites from seclusion.
This was followed by free medical outreach for the aged in the community.
The ceremony rounded up on Sunday with a thanksgiving service at first African Church Mission Odo egiri epe lagos state, at 10:00 am which OBA MUSILU ABIOLA OLIWO THE ALADEPEKIN OF ODO EGIRI KINGDOM. Thank God for his mercy during the time He was fighting for the post and the whole community was in support of it.
