Earlier today, the new Executives of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Epe Branch led by Comrade Moibi Ibrahim convened a meeting with Epe Local Government Chairman, Princess Surah Animashaun and task her on youth inclusive governance.
The meeting was convened to discuss pertinent issues affecting the youth in the Epe community. The visitation aimed to foster a constructive dialogue on matters ranging from education and youth unemployment/empowerment to community development projects.
During the meeting, the youth council leadership articulated their concerns and aspirations, emphasizing the need for increased investment in youth-centric initiatives. They highlighted challenges faced by the youths of Epe Community and submitted the action plans to solve some of the challenges.
The local government chairman acknowledged the importance of engaging with the youth and expressed commitment to addressing their concerns. Discussions included potential collaborations between the Youth Council and the local government to create programs that promote skill development and sense of belonging for the youths.
The meeting concluded with a sense of optimism, as both parties recognized the mutual benefit of working together for the betterment of the community. The Leadership of the Youth Council left with a clearer understanding of the local government's perspective, and the chairman gained valuable insights into the specific needs and aspirations of the youth in the area. The visitation served as a crucial step towards building a collaborative and inclusive approach to community development.
