Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, popularly known as Baba Ijesha, alleged released from prison.
These allegations were fueled by videos that appeared online, including one where a woman, thought to be his sister, was seen giving thanks for his supposed release.
The video suggested that the family had avoided the disgrace they feared, as many believed Baba Ijesha would remain incarcerated.
Baba Ijesha's legal troubles began on April 22, 2021, when he faced charges related to child defilement.
His trial took place before Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo at the Special Offences and Domestic Violence Court in Ikeja.
On July 14, 2022, he was convicted on multiple counts, including indecent treatment of a child and sexual assault, leading to a sentence of 16 years in prison. However, he was acquitted on two of the six counts against him.
