Zeemani, originally named Elijah Opeyemi, was born and raised in Ilorin, Kwara state, Nigeria. He grew up in a family led by his parents, Pastor and Mrs. Popoola, alongside his four brothers. Life in their household was not easy, as all seven family members lived in a single room for many years. Despite the cramped living conditions and financial difficulties, Zeemani's family persevered.
Zeemani's father was a pastor, while his mother worked as a midwife and also had the gift of prophecy. Their beliefs and values greatly influenced Zeemani's upbringing, instilling in him a deep faith and determination to succeed. As the fourth-born child, Zeemani was exposed to the struggles and hustles of life from an early age.
At just 15 years old, Zeemani began working as a laborer to help support his family. Balancing work and school became a routine for him, and he managed to complete his secondary education at Ilorin Grammar School (IGS) in 2017. Despite the challenges he faced, Zeemani's dreams of pursuing higher education and a successful music career remained steadfast.
After completing his secondary education, Zeemani made the decision to leave Ilorin and travel to Ogbomosho in search of better opportunities. His goal was to continue his education and gain admission to a university. In Ilorin, Zeemani had to rely on his hustling skills to make ends meet while also pursuing his education. His hard work and determination paid off, leading to his acceptance into a National Diploma (ND) program in 2020.
During his (ND) in Ilorin, Zeemani crossed paths with Ademuyiwa Taiwo, who would become a dear friend and mentor. Ademuyiwa, who was based in Ikorodu, Lagos state, shared his wisdom and knowledge with Zeemani, helping him understand life and its complexities. Inspired by his friend's insights, Zeemani decided to take a leap of faith and follow his dreams.
In pursuit of his music career, Zeemani made the bold move to relocate to Lagos and settled in Ikorodu. He found solace in the support and companionship of his friend Ademuyiwa, who provided a guiding light on his path to success. Since then, Zeemani has been tirelessly working on his music, using his voice and talents to express his innermost thoughts and emotions.
Although Zeemani has yet to sign with a music label, his dedication remains unwavering. He continues to navigate the challenges of the music industry and strives to make his mark. His unique style blends Yoruba and English languages, creating a distinct sound that captivates listeners.
Zeemani's journey is one characterized by resilience, determination, and a never-give-up attitude. From his humble beginnings in a small room with his family, to traveling, hustling, and chasing his dreams, Zeemani has overcome numerous obstacles. His story serves as an inspiration to others, reminding them that with unwavering determination and a passion for their craft, anything is possible.
Zeemani currently resides in Ogijo, Ikorodu, Lagos, where he continues to work hard and pursue his music career. His story is a testament to the power of perseverance and the belief in oneself. As Zeemani stays true to his vision, he aims to make a significant impact in the music industry and inspire others to follow their own dreams.
