PHOTO NEWS: LAGOS 114 LG ROADS; GBENU FLAG-OFF CONSTRUCTION OF SALVATION ARMY SCHOOL ROAD BOGLO IN BADAGRY WEST

 


Hon. Gbenu Henugbe Joseph, Executive Chairman of Badagry-West LCDA, has promised to commence the construction of Salvation Army Primary School Road, Boglo Way.


Gbenu disclosed this during a stakeholders forum organised by the council on Monday, 13th May, 2024.


This project being part of the 114 roads initiative  in the State is aimed to complement the THEMES plus Agenda of Mr. Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu on infrastructure development and to improve the lives of residents.


During the event, the chairman, Hon. Gbenu Joseph emphasized the importance of collaboration between residents and contractors and pleaded for cooperation to minimize disruptions and expedite its completion. 


The road if completed will boost tourism  development in the area and ease movement of residents including students. Gbenu said


He praised members of  the stakeholders forum for the meeting which came after Phazam Ltd successfully bid and won  the contract. 


Providing technical insights, The Director of Phazam International Ventures Ltd, Engr. Segun Wahab, promised that the project which has a timeline of six months encompassing comprehensive drainage systems on both sides of the road and installation of solar street lights would be completed during the duration of time. 


Engr. Wahab appreciated Governor Sanwoolu and the Council Chairman, Gbenu for awarding the 520m length of road from Seme-Badagry road to Boglo Village with 7.3 metres width on both side to his organisation. 


The Council Engineer, Engr. Olajide Abejide outlined the project's specifications, laying the groundwork for its successful implementation.


Abejide further said the stakeholders forum also embraced all the people that were directly or indirectly linked to the project.  


The 114 road is an Initiative of the Conference 57 Chairmen which commenced in 2022 with the approval of Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwoolu. He said


Responding, Comrade Aladeotan David Sunday , Coordinator National Youth Council of Nigeria, Badagry West expressed gratitude to the Council Chairman for his pivotal role in advancing the progress of the locality.


Mr. Gbenu Oloyode, the CDA Chairman of Bapo-Boglo commended the Chairman for his unwavering commitment to community development saying the project is long awaited. 


He pledged continued support on the part of his community, reaffirming his dedication to the welfare of the people.
