NYCN EPE SEALS IKEJA ELECTRIC OFFICE IN EPE, DEMANDS FULL ELECTRICITY

In a decisive move to address the persistent issue of electricity supply in Epe, the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) Epe Branch has sealed off the Ikeja Electric office in Epe. This action comes in response to the prolonged blackout that has left the community in darkness, affecting daily activities and economic stability.

Despite numerous attempts to engage Ikeja Electric in dialogue and resolve the situation amicably, the power company has failed to respond adequately to the demands for a stable and reliable electricity supply.

The NYCN leadership, representing the collective voice of the youth and the broader community, has taken this step as a last resort to compel action.

This is not a protest, we are not protesting to avoid any potential hijacking of our efforts or to disturb the peace of our community. However, Ikeja Electric's persistent failure to address our legitimate demands for a consistent electricity supply has left us with no choice.

On this note, the youth council is locking up the Ikeja Electric office until they fulfill our demand for full electricity.

This action is taken in the interest of the community's well-being. The blackout has not only inconvenienced residents but has also had severe implications for businesses, education, and healthcare services in Epe amd its environs. The youth council remain committed to non-violent means of advocacy and is hopeful that this action will prompt Ikeja Electric to take immediate steps to restore power to Epe.

We hereby urge the community members to remain calm and support the council's efforts to achieve a sustainable solution.

The NYCN Epe leadership remains steadfast in our commitment to advocating for the rights and needs of Epe community, demonstrating the power of collective action in the face of adversity.
