The Ora community has issued a statement calling for patience with the government and urging the youth to cancel the planned protest.

The people of Ora Community in Eredo LCDA,Epe Division of Lagos State, today,July 31,2024, implored the youths in the community to exercise patience with the Federal Government and government at all levels on the economic situation in the country.

While addressing Journalists at the Olu Ora Palace, Chief Abuleko Adeleke, said the people of Ora community under the leadership of His Royal Highness, High - Chief Peter Oriyomi Ogungbesan, are not in support of any protest in Epe Division,Lagos State, and Nigeria at large.

" We cannot deny the fact that there is hardship in the land, but protest can never be the solution. We need to continue to be patient with the government. His Excellency,Mr President,Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has not relented since he assumed office, trying his best to right the long time wrong in the polity, making decisions and policies that can fix this nation. Instead of staging a protest that can cause anarchy,we should give him support; and we in Ora Community trust him that,he will deliver good governance and our economy will bounce back to a better state" He stressed.

He therefore, urged Nigerian Youth in Lagos State and the Country at large not to carry out the protest slated for tomorrow,Thursday, August 1,2024; in the overall interest of the nation and all Nigerians.

The Chief Imam of the Community, Imam M.A. Alabidun, also appealed to the Youth and other individuals that want to organise or join the protest,to cancel that and consider other options, that are violence free; noting that a peaceful protest can be hijacked by hoodlums, and lead to violence and destruction of lives and properties. He ended his address by praying for all the Youth, and the government at all levels.

The Youth Chairman of the Community,Comrade Odugbela Obafemi, has vouched for the Youth in the community, that they will not be part of the protest. He noted that, they are responsible young people.
