Breaking News: Atiku Condemns Tinubu's Inaction on 'Igbo Must Leave' Threat: Calls for Immediate Arrests and Prosecution to Prevent Genocide

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has strongly condemned President Bola Tinubu's failure to address the recent "Igbo Must Leave" threat, which has sparked widespread outrage and fears of ethnic violence. Atiku described the incendiary rhetoric as "deeply troubling" and "fundamentally opposed to the principles of unity and coexistence" in Nigeria.

Atiku's statement comes five days after the threat emerged on social media, calling for the forced relocation of Igbo people from Lagos and other Southwest states. Despite the gravity of the situation, no arrests have been made, and the police have remained silent.

Atiku warned that allowing such hatred and bigotry to fester could lead to devastating consequences, citing the example of Rwanda. He urged the government to take immediate and strong action against those inciting hatred and division, and to investigate, arrest, and prosecute individuals promoting ethnic discrimination and violence.

The former presidential candidate emphasized that Nigeria's strength lies in its diversity and called on all Nigerians to stand united against divisive rhetoric, championing unity, tolerance, and understanding. He charged the government and security agencies to act swiftly to protect the fundamental principle of living free from fear of discrimination or persecution.
