In preparation for the 70th Anniversary of the Epe Grammar School, the Leadership of Epe Grammar School Old Students’ Association (EGOSA), held a meeting with the three Members of the founding Set of 1954 (Alhaji Chief Sikirullah Adebajo Shanu, Baale Odogbonle Area of Noforija Kingdom; Alhaji Pa. Adelani Shobaloju and Otunba Taiwo Bola Odebiyi).
The meeting which was held at the Epe Grammar School (EGS) premises on Saturday, 10th August, 2024 was aimed at familiarizing the Executives with the pioneer Old Students and to acquaint the Veterans with the essential arrangements and Programmes for the forthcoming 70th Anniversary of Epe Grammar School, scheduled to hold from Wednesday, 20th November, through Sunday, 24th November, 2024.
Pa. Ayodele Alebiosu, (62/66 Set) who joined the Exco to receive the Veterans commended the Elders for their show of love and affection to the School and EGOSA.
He noted that the essence of the meeting was to show that the impact of the Elders has resulted in the successes currently registered in the Association's history.
Mrs. Olushola Kehinde Alade-Raji, EGOSA President, in her remarks, appreciated the Elders for making out time to honor the call of the Association. She attested that the roles the Elders have played is a key factor that has guaranteed the stability the Body has witnessed over the decades.
Furthermore, she stated that the forthcoming 70th Anniversary is not only about celebrating the existence of the School but also an avenue to think highly of the significant impact of these great men.
The Veterans, while sharing their beautiful memories about the School, appreciated the National Executives for deeming them worthy to be part of the growth of the School until this moment.
They emphasized the strong need to continually maintain Old projects of the School as a means of rekindling beautiful memories. This, they said will also birth new developmental projects that will further positively project the School among its contemporaries.
While assuring their full support for the 70th Anniversary, they promised their continuous support in further improving the state of the School.
The Principal of Junior and Senior School Principals, Mrs. Ayodele Adesola Abiodun and Mr. Mohammad O. Jimoh, who were in attendance at the meeting both appreciated the continuous positive impacts EGOSA has played in ensuring the Schools continue to be in a good state for the benefit of Staff and Students.
The Junior School Principal acknowledged the fact that the Schools have benefited immensely from its Old Students Body, stating that other Schools are indeed envious of the numerous developmental projects EGOSA has facilitated for the School.
Appreciating the Elders for their deep sense of commitment, the National Executives presented gifts, symbolizing the official Logo of the 70th Anniversary to indicate their preparation for the school’s Platinum Jubilee.
Finally, the President and the EXCO stated that the meeting is a way of kickstarting the 70th Anniversary.
