AKOGUN WALE RAJI ANOMO BESTOWED WITH OTUNBA AKOGUN OF ODO-AYANDELU TITLE

In what could be termed as unexpected but highly meritorious development,  yesterday 9th of September 2024, the Executive Chairman of Ikosi-Ejinrin Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Akogun Wale Raji Anomo, was conferred with the esteemed chieftaincy title of Otunba Akogun of Odo-Ayandelu Kingdom by His Royal Majesty Oba (Bldr) Ganiyu Asunmo Aderibigbe (Jamade I), the Alayandelu of Odo-Ayandelu and Paramount Ruler of Ayandelu Kingdom. The surprise conferral took place at the Oba’s palace in Odo-Ayandelu during what was expected to be a private meeting of the Chairman and his team with the monarch after inspecting the ongoing construction of the Divisional Headquarters of the NSCDC building in Odo-Ayandelu Kingdom.

During the meeting, Oba Asunmo Aderibigbe wished Akogun Wale Raji Anomo a happy birthday and expressed deep appreciation for the outstanding contributions of the Chairman to the development of Odo-Ayandelu and Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA in general. The monarch stated that no Chairman since the creation of the LCDA had achieved as much as Akogun Wale Raji Anomo, particularly in terms of the strategic distribution of developmental projects across the communities under his leadership.

His Royal Majesty further revealed that since his ascension to the throne in 2010, this is the first time a sitting Chairman was deemed deserving of such an honor. He emphasized that the Alayandelu-in-Council only grants chieftaincy titles on merit, and Akogun Wale Raji Anomo's impact in the Ayandelu Kingdom made him the clear choice for this prestigious title.

Highlighting some of the Chairman's significant projects in the kingdom, Oba Aderibigbe noted the provision of a 500kva transformer to the Odo-Onosa community, the ongoing construction of the Epe Divisional Headquarters of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) in Odo-Ayandelu, and the promised Odo-Ayandelu Community Hall. These initiatives are reflection of the Chairman's commitment towards improving infrastructure and fostering development across the region.

In the official letter of conferral, the monarch acknowledged Akogun Wale Raji Anomo’s relentless drive in promoting rural electrification, constructing classrooms in schools, supporting local farmers, and providing financial relief to ease the suffering of citizens. The letter concluded with a promise of total support from the people of Odo-Ayandelu for his second-term bid as Chairman of Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA.

Several key officials accompanied the Chairman, including the Vice Chairman, Alhaji Wasiu Oluwole Dehinsilu; Council Manager, Mr. Awobajo Sunday; Council Treasurer, Mr. Lawal Adeshina; Chief of Staff, Hon. Jayesinmi Abiodun; and Supervisor for Works, Hon. Yusuf Babatunde.

In his acceptance speech, Akogun Wale Raji Anomo expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Oba Aderibigbe and the Alayandelu-in-Council for the honor bestowed upon him. He viewed the title as a recognition of the accomplishments under his administration but made it clear that he remained focused on the work ahead. The Chairman reassured the people of Odo-Ayandelu and the entire Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA that they have yet to witness the best of his leadership.

As Akogun Wale Raji Anomo continues to chart new paths for development, the title of Otunba Akogun of Odo-Ayandelu serves as both recognition and motivation for him as his works has undeniably left a lasting mark on Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA.
