Breaking News: Reps Summon EFCC Chairman, VeryDarkMan, Bobrisky Over Alleged Bribery

In a recent development, the House of Representatives has taken decisive action to investigate serious allegations of bribery involving the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Nigeria Correctional Service. The Joint Committees of the House have summoned EFCC Chairman, Ola Olukoyode, and the Comptroller General of the Nigeria Correctional Service, to appear before them on Monday, September 30, 2024.

This action follows the emergence of a viral social media voice recording involving crossdresser Idris Okuneye, widely known as Bobrisky. The recording, released by social media influencer Martins Otse, also known as "VeryDarkMan," suggested that Bobrisky allegedly paid N15 million in bribes to the EFCC to drop money laundering charges against him. Furthermore, it was claimed that Bobrisky spent his six-month prison sentence in a VIP facility, avoiding the regular prison experience, which has fueled public outrage.

The House Committees have requested that both Bobrisky and VeryDarkMan be present to testify regarding the allegations. The EFCC Chairman and Correctional Service officers involved are expected to provide explanations on the alleged misuse of power and preferential treatment granted to Bobrisky.

This investigation follows the House’s resolution to ensure transparency and accountability in the nation’s fight against corruption. The outcome of this investigation could have significant consequences for both the EFCC and the Nigeria Correctional Service.

Stay tuned for further updates.
