The leadership of Epe Division Football Association (EDFA), was on Sunday,September 22, 2024, had a crucial meeting with all Football Club Owners and Coaches across Epe Division,including Ibeju-Lekki and Lekki,at Recreation Centre,Epe;where necessary steps needed to be taken, in order to have a better and more rewarding Divisional Football League for all affiliated clubs,was discussed, and other related matters.
While addressing the gathering, and during press interview, the EDFA Chairman,Mr. Adekoya Felix Olalekan, revealed the plan of the association to organise an advanced Football League, that will also be more rewarding,by awarding cash prizes to winners;this he said, has never happened in the history of the FA.
" We are meeting all the Club Owners in Epe Division,namely, Epe,Eredo,Ikosi-Ejinrin,Lekki and Ibeju,to take a good and final decision on our Divisional League. This time around,we want to organise a league, that cash prizes will be awarded to the winners,the 1st and 2nd; to assist them financially for the State League,because such winners are going to represent this division at the state level. We want to have a Divisional League,that will be characterized with good media coverage and good participation.That is why we had sent letters out for sponsorship and assistance and we know our good people and organizations, will respond positively as soon as possible." He said.
"We want all Clubs in this division to be part of the League and for those who are yet to get affiliated with the FA,the latest law in Lagos State,is that you cannot play any competition in the state without affiliation. Also,all teams must have affiliated Coaches. Lagos State has zero tolerance for indiscipline and violence at any Football tournament,hence,the importance and compulsion placed on affiliation; in order for each team and Coaches to be well recognized and duly regulated" He added.
The General Secretary of the FA, Mr. Muhydeen Kabiru Adesesan,revealed that the association is committed to continuous football development in the division;as he advised youth to take the advantage of the forthcoming league by participating through the registered clubs.
The President of the Potters Football Academy,Mr. Peter Okechukwu Samuel;the President of Papa Soccer Academy,Pastor Odunlami Akinsola;the Director, Ultimate Soccer Academy,Mr. Toriola Nurudeen Adekunle;commended the FA,as they asked for the best from its leadership.
