The Offa Youth Council (OYC) has called on His Royal Majesty, Oba Mufutau Gbadamosi Esuwoye II, the Olofa of Offa, to intervene and ensure the immediate resignation of the leadership of the Offa Descendants Union (ODU), led by Alhaji Azeez Salako, Just Event Online TV reports
In a petition submitted at the ODU Hall and the Olofa's palace, the youths alleged that the ODU leadership has deviated from the union's objectives and has become deeply involved in partisan politics.
They also accused the leadership of orchestrating a political gang-up against the President of the OYC, who also serves as the Aare Bobajiro of Offa Land, Mr. Olaniyi Musbau.
The OYC raised concerns about the removal of elected members of the ODU executive council who do not align with Salako's political interests and condemned the validation of electoral fraud during the recent local government elections.
The youth council urged for the resignation of the ODU leadership or a change in their approach to maintain neutrality in community matters and uphold the union’s core values.
They expressed hope that the Olofa of Offa would guide the union back to its original path of unity and development for the benefit of all Offa indigenes.
