A first class monarch and the longest serving traditional ruler in Bauchi State, Alhaji Muhammadu Inuwa, is dead.
Inuwa died at the Federal Medical Center Azare in Katagum Local Government Area of the state.
He held the title of Sarkin Beli for an extraordinary 91 years
A respected figure in Northern Nigeria, Inuwa’s reign saw him serve under four different first-class Emirs of Katagum
He was appointed as village head at just 19 years old by the then Emir, AbdulQadir.
During his time on the throne, Inuwa earned a reputation for his peaceful leadership and dedication to the welfare of his people.
Inuwa’s death marks the end of an era for the people of Beli and the broader Bauchi State, with his leadership remembered fondly by residents for his calm and thoughtful approach to governance.
