The Lagos State University Career Development Centre (LCDC) has successfully hosted a two-day interactive training program designed to enhance leadership skills and improve service delivery among stakeholders. Themed “Stakeholders’ Interactive Training on Employability Skills,” the event ran from Tuesday, November 19, to Wednesday, November 20, 2024, at the LASU Academic Resource and Conference Centre.
The initiative aimed to provide stakeholders with leadership capabilities and tools to support students—particularly job seekers—with essential skills for career growth and long-term success.
In her welcome address, the Director of LASU Career Development Centre, Prof. S.T. Durowoju, emphasized the importance of collaboration in empowering graduates with practical skills. “This training aims to provide participants with actionable strategies to prepare students for leadership and excellence in their chosen fields,” she noted.
Representing the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, mni, NPOM, the Director of the Directorate of Special Interventions, Prof. Oseni Taiwo Afisi, commended the LCDC’s efforts. “The university is committed to supporting students not only in earning degrees but also in acquiring essential soft skills and employability attributes that will position them competitively in the global labour market,” he remarked.
