This day, 8th of November, 2024, Lagostrend report that the Speaker, Lagos State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa who is a genius indigene of Agege Town celebrated his 52rd birthday today. The Speaker has influenced and touched the lives of his mentees and people respectively. Such that a noteworthy forum which has been founded two amongst his multiple followers, Mrs. Ogunyemi Katherine Motunrayo and Mr. Abatan have displayed humanitarian  movements to the society with Agege as its headquarter. Since 2022, the Hon. Obasa birthday has been also celebrated at Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa's Constituency, Oyewole Street; with devoted partnership with PAYEF reliable committee. This celebration also occurred today in its third edition; ensuring that widows and less privileged are given palliatives in formalised manners.


Some of the honourables of this humanitarian event as called by Councillor Adebode Abraham are: Mrs. Olubiyi, the woman leader, Alhaji Taofeek Oladimeji, Mr A. A. Arisekola, the Treasurer of Agege, Hon Councillor Afolabi, Alhaji Tajudeen Anifowose, Mrs. Ogunyomi, the Educational Secretary, Hon Abatan Kazeem, the Supervisor for Works and the Chairman of PAYEF, Alhaji Agarawu, Mrs Taiwo and others. The National Anthem of Nigeria was sung in a respected manner with prayers led in both the Christian and Islamic way.


Mr. Akinyele Braimoh, a member of the Agege Constituent APC Executive appreciated Honorable Mudashiru because he carries most of the financial responsibilities of the programme. He said the forum has reduced the financial burdens of members of the community.


Equally, Mrs Ogunyomi Katherine Motunrayo, the founder of Papa Ashafa Youths and Elders' Forum confessed interestingly, that the programme was found in 2014. The programme with purely positive meetings for the betterments of the society. Afterwards, the meeting was inspired by Hon. Mudashiru Obasa in 2007 while he encouraged his mentees to work selflessly for the progress of the society. Eventually, she and Hon. Abatan changed the name of  Papa Ashafa Youths and Elders' Forum (PAYEF) in order to ensure that Hon. Mudashiru Obasa can be remembered for his imitable works and lifestyle. In order celebrated his 50th birthday in appreciation, they both  initiated the generosity to widows and less privileged with his willing financial support (2022). She added that it has been the style of all members of the forum to assume themselves mandated and dedicated to the welfare of the people. This cut across food items but also the road, power supply and other sundries. In fact, since Rt. Hon. has become a prominent political figure, he has also raised the spirits of other members towards greatness and positive movements. Hailing that Mrs. Katherine declared herself as an authentic beneficiary of Hon. Agege's position. He raised her and she is ready to raise her society also.


Mrs. Ajayi Olutayo, a beneficiary also added that this birthday celebration has shown a unique purpose of not just displaying wealth but also helping the needy members of the society. She further explained that both widows and elderly men who cannot cater for themselves or do not have enough are being given palliatives in this programme by PAYEF.


Hon. Odunewu Abel, the Chairman of the organizing committee of PAYEF under Rt Hon Mudashiru Obasa revealed that the secret of this generous annual celebration has been from the support of The Almighty God, financial support of Hon Mudashiru Obasa and the collaborative attitude of the committee members. He further explained that the committee consists of eights persons and the protocol members consists of eleven persons. He also recognized the stable support of the founders of PAYEF, Mrs. Katherine Motunrayo and Hon. Abatan Kazeem. He also said the that PAYEF wishes to have other quartres outside Orile-Agege axis. Hence, if support comes from the government and other rich personalities; the organisation woul be able to so do.


In addition, Mr Emmanuel Edun Kehinde, the Vice Chairman of the protocol committee uttered that he ensures that competent hands are appointed as members of the organisation committee. He receives feedback and put them through and the work for the goals of the organisation. He also said all members know their respective jobs that they are meant to enforce. He added that even though the programme has only one quatre, Orile-Agege axis; a lot of people benefit from its activities. For instance, some people are coming from Ifo and Abule Oko, Ogun State and these different people thank God continuously for creating persons initiate such a beneficial forum like PAYEF through Rt Hon Mudashiru Obasa. He also accounted that the financial support does not come from all members of PAYEF but rather strictly the executives and Rt Hon Mudashiru Obasa.
