In a significant stride toward enhancing public safety, the Lagos State Government has deployed 450 Intelligent Video Surveillance Cameras across critical areas of the state. This initiative is part of a broader effort to strengthen security monitoring and ensure the safety of residents.

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu announced the development today during the 18th Town Hall Meeting on Security held at the Lagos House, Alausa, Ikeja. Addressing stakeholders, the Governor emphasized the importance of leveraging technology to combat crime and maintain order in the bustling metropolis.

“These intelligent cameras will serve as vital tools in monitoring our streets and identifying potential security threats in real-time,” Governor Sanwo-Olu stated. “By deploying them in strategic locations, we are taking proactive measures to make Lagos a safer place for everyone.”

The Town Hall Meeting on Security, an annual event, brings together security agencies, government officials, and community leaders to discuss strategies for ensuring peace and security in Lagos State. This year’s gathering underscored the government’s commitment to leveraging innovation in addressing modern security challenges.

Residents have lauded the initiative, expressing hope that the cameras will deter criminal activities and enhance the responsiveness of law enforcement agencies. With this technological advancement, Lagos continues to set the pace in adopting smart solutions for urban management.
