Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa the Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, bags best performing local government chairman award At EDCAA 2024 AWARDS

 

Lagostrend Report That the Chairman of Ibeju Lekki Government  Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa  today 12 December 2024 bagged an award for his emergence as one of the best performing local government chairman in Epe Division,  among other local government chairmen he  was awarded at the Epe Division Annual award in Epe, Lagos State.

In an interview with The Press At the Event Ground , the Chairman said the award is a privilege because the joy of any man is the opportunity to serve his people and that joy becomes fuller and greater when the little tries to do is being appreciated by the people and rated among the best in the Division .

According to him, the award will only spur them the opportunity to put in much more of his best to ensure that they deliver on the mandate of their people and the mission that God has called him on to service of God and humanity.

” I feel grateful to God, the government, people of Ibeju LEKKI for the opportunity because without them, I wouldn’t have been where I am today.

“I dedicate this award to God Almighty, to the People who believe in my government, the Governor of Lagos state, his Excellency Olusola Sanwo- Olu and I believe in the fact that it pays to serve and there is always a reward for good service,” he said.

He said ” many people don’t believe in local government administration because they think it’s an avenue to siphone money but thank God we are able to make a difference.

We have changed the narratives that you can still excel at the local government level to come up with visible achievements that touches the life of the people.

” The achievements that reflects more is when the old men, women may never have seen the president or governor but sees them through the program and policies at the local government”.

The award is been bestowed on the Chairman and others because is the hallmark of hope that in the midst of our tragedy of leadership, there are still individuals inspiring confidence and adding to the socio-economic and political value chain of out great nation .

In his words ” The most noble political creed any politician can adopt for the benefit of the society is the creed to bring improvement on the quality of the life of the people”.

The yearly Epe Division Community Annual Award (EDCAA) for the year 2024 took place today at the ancient town of Epe, where the Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, was bestowed with the prestigious award for his outstanding contributions to grassroots development. His efforts in promoting community engagement, infrastructure improvement, and social welfare initiatives have significantly impacted the lives of residents in ibeju lekki, earning him recognition and respect among his peers and constituents. The event celebrated various individuals and organizations dedicated to fostering growth and development within the Epe Division, highlighting the importance of community service and leadership.

While receiving the award, the Mayor expressed his happiness at the recognition, assuring the audience that this honor would serve as a motivation for him to double his efforts in delivering the dividends of democracy. He emphasized his commitment to serving the community and enhancing the quality of life for all residents. The Mayor's remarks highlighted the importance of community engagement and collaboration in achieving meaningful progress.

Also nominated for the award presentation was the Special Adviser to the Governor of Taxation and Revenue, Hon. Opeyemi Abdulkabir Ogungbo which was received on his behalf by the Executive Chairman, Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa. 

Other dignitaries that attended the event includes, former Lagos State House of Assembly member representing Epe Constitutency 2, Hon. Olusegun Olulade, Mr. Adebanjo Otukomaya, admin comptroller of Lekki Free Trade Zone and representative of Senator Adetokunbo Mukhail Abiru.
