Hon. Princess Surah Olayemi Animashaun, the Executive Chairman of Epe Local Government, was recently honored as the Epe Division Female Ambassador of the Year. She won the award in recognition of her leadership and dedication to community development.
Animashaun was also recently decorated as a Tuberculosis (TB) Champion and Ambassador by the Lagos State First Lady. She pledged to work with the First Lady to eliminate TB in Lagos State, and to implement policies and mobilize resources to support TB control programs. Animashaun also stated that TB is a preventable and treatable disease, and that communities should be educated to promote early detection and ensure access to quality healthcare.
Animashaun has also received the Yemofa and Wora Awards, which recognize her performance as the Best Performing Female Local Government Chairman in Lagos State.

In a testament to her exceptional leadership and unwavering dedication to community development, the Executive Chairman, Epe Local Government Hon. Princess Surah Olayemi Animashaun has won the 5th edition of the Epe Division Female Ambassador of the Year Award in a recently determined online poll organised by the Epe Division Community Annual Awards (EDCAA) reflecting the trust and admiration of the Epe community.
Hon. Animashaun expressed deep gratitude to the people of Epe for the recognition, emphasising that the award was not just a personal achievement but a symbol of the collective spirit of the community.
In her words, "I am overwhelmed with gratitude as I express my heartfelt appreciation to each of you who voted for me in the recent online poll by the EDCAA as Epe Division Female Ambassador of the Year. Your trust and confidence in me are a tremendous honour, and I am deeply humbled by your support".
“I am deeply humbled and grateful to everyone who voted for me. This award means so much to me because it shows the love and trust you have in me as your leader. This is not just my achievement; it is ours”, she said.
While maintaining that the recognition is not just a testament to her efforts, she averred that it is also a reflection of the community's collective work and dedication. “As the Chairman of Epe Local Government, I am committed to continuously serving our community with passion, integrity, and transparency. I will strive to uphold the values of compassion, kindness, and generosity that have always defined our community", Animashaun stated.
The Chairman, therefore, promised to continue doing her best for the residents of Epe and keep working to make various communities in Epe better for everyone.
Hon. Animashaun reaffirmed her pride in being part of Epe’s vibrant community. “This is a vibrant and amazing community. I am proud to be part of it, and I look forward to doing more for us all. Thank you for this great honour,” she said.
