Lagostrend Report That Obasa Games 2024 Grand Finale came to a thrilling conclusion today the 14th of December, 2024, with Victory FC of Alimosho LCDA emerging victorious in the football tournament, as the team went away with the star prize of 3million Naira available in the football tournament. The Victory FC team's triumph was sealed after a nail-biting 2-2 draw against Lions Hearts FC, followed by a winning penalty shootouts, where Victory FC scored 5 penalties against 4 scored by Lions Hearts FC.
The closing ceremony, held at the Anwar-Islam College football pitch, was a spectacle of glitz and glamour, with Lagos Speaker, Rt Hon Mudashiru Obasa, gracing the occasion, so as other dignitaries from the political circle, Ex international players, business moguls, foreign scouts, sporting bodies, representatives of State government and the Presidency. The event was a testament to the success of the Obasa Games 2024, which has provided a platform for young athletes to showcase their talents for identification and rewarding futures.
At the Obasa Games 2024 festival, football tournament was just one of the many events that made up the sporting fiesta. The games also featured competitions in chess, scrabble, table tennis, and boxing, with participants from various local government areas in Lagos West Senatorial District in Lagos State.
According to the Local Organising Chairman, Abdulganiu Obasa, the Obasa Games 2024 has been a huge success, with many talented young athletes discovered during the competition. The games will also help to promote unity and sports development in Lagos State.
As the curtains closed on the Obasa Games 2024, the focus now shifts to the future of sports development in Lagos West Senatorial District, and the entire Lagos State. It should be of note that all the winners at the previously concluded indoor games of Table tennis, Boxing, Scrabble and Chess, also collected their cash rewards and medals at today's grand finale/ closing ceremony.
