In the early hours of Saturday, the State Chairman of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Engr Adigun Ibrahim Olalelan, MNSE, joined the Vice Chairman East, Comrade Asoro Abubakri, to participate in the NYCN Ikorodu West Local Branch's walk against cultism, drugs, and child abuse.
The duo was accompanied by the Executive Chairman of Ikorodu West LCDA, Hon. Sulaimon Kareem Olanrewaju, councillors, supervisors, NDLEA officers, to lead a sea of youths from across Ikorodu West on the awareness walk.
The walk traversed markets and other populated areas in the community as the youths spread awareness about the devastating consequences of substance abuse, which can lead to cultism, rape, and child abuse.
The message was “Shun substance abuse and embrace creativity in legal activities,”
Adigun expressed delight to join the local chapter on such a noble cause calling for more collaborative efforts in eradicating the social vices or bringing them to the barest minimum in the community and the state at large.
