Engr. Adigun Ibrahim Olalekan Chairman NYCN Lagos State Chapter marked another significant day in the history of his administration as he launched the Lagos Youth Talk Series.

 

The Enlightenment program is aimed at addressing critical and topical issues in the society, aiming to better inform our vibrant youth population and Lagosians at large.

This inaugural edition, focused on the proposed tax reform bills of Mr. President, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. And as a result, experts in taxation and other prominent figures with substantial knowledge on tax issues were invited to analyze the details of the bills, with emphasis on the benefits for the youth.

The event was blessed with the presence of the Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Taxation, Mr. Abdulkabir Ogungbo, who was ably represented by the Director of Monitoring and Investigation at the State Treasury Office, Mr Tajudeen Mahmud; Mr. Ayodele Subair, the Executive Chairman of the Lagos State Internal Revenue Services who had Mr. Olugbenga Obatola stand in for him. 

Also in attendance were Dr. Saka Jimoh, an Associate Professor of Economics at Lagos State University (LASU), and Miss Damilola Ojebode, Manager of Tax Regulatory and People’s Services at KPMG, all of whom took turn to delve into key components of the bills, demystifying the elements to aid understandability.

Mobolaji Ogunlende, and Permanent Secretary of the Lagos State Ministry of Youth and Social Development - Pharm. (Mrs.) Toyin Oke-Osanyintolu, respectively, for their invaluable partnership and support in organizing this event.
