NGOs urges Nigerians to register, collect their PVC ahead of 2023 election

Epe(Lagos State), Jan. 27, 2022(NAN) Concerned Nation Builders Initiative(CNI), an NGOs, has urged Nigerians to register and collect their Permanent Voters Card(PVC) ahead of 2023 general election.

Mr Afeez Lawal, the Deputy Director of the organisation made the plea during an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria, in Epe, on Thursday.

Lawal called on Epe residents, Lagos state and Nigerians to go out enmass and register for and collect their PVC, in order to participate in the forthcoming election.

According to him, PVC is their voting right and power to determine their future and to determine who will govern them in their best interests in the coming general election.

The deputy director urged those who had just attained the required voting age of 18, to visit the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Office in their respective local governments to go and register for their PVC.

“The PVC is your tools and weapon to flush out bad representative and vote in the best candidate that will represent the interest of the society in totality.

“If you don’t show concern about governance, do not complain when the wrong people mount the position of authority and be ruling you unjustly, ” he said.

He added that there are lots of PVC that are yet to be collected by the owners, he urged the possessors to go and collect their voters card to be able to vote in 2023.

“The PVC is the power of the people. It is the tool they need to change and renegotiate their future. It is their power to ensure that their next representatives, governors and president would be someone who cares about the society needs and is sensitive to citizens demands.

“A leader/representatives who would provide the citizens with world class hospitals, health centres, educational standard because I believe there cannot be prosperity without good education.

“Others as; youth and women empowerment, good road network, water supply where they won’t have to spend all their savings in buying water, and an administrator that will revive Commerce, trade and industry that will revive the economy.

“The forthcoming administration should revolves around the people with people oriented projects to be executed across all the 36states and local government areas, but all of these won’t happen if the people do not collect their cards to vote for transition, ” he said.

Lawal appealed to INEC to put their machineries in place and upgrade their necessary tools/equipment ahead of 2023 election to avoid any hiccups during voting exercise.(NAN).
