Lagos State, June 17, 2022(NAN) Ohaneze Ndigbo of Lagos state, has tasked all the Igbo youths across the nation to obtain their Permanent Voters Card(PVCs) ahead of 2023 general election.

Chief Sunday Ossai, the Newly elected President of Ohaneze Ndigbo of Lagos State made the plea in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria(NAN) in Lagos, on Friday.

He said that as the newly elected president part of his duties and responsibilities was to unite and harmonise all the Igbos across Lagos state together.

“I need to ensure peace, unity and stability among my Igbo people in Lagos state and in Nigeria at large.

“It is my duty to do so and I am ready to unite my people together in order for us to speak in one voice.


“All I crave for, is love, unity and progress of my people and I want all my Igbo people to work closely with me to achieve our stated goals and objectives, ” he said.

Ossai urged all the Igbo youths in Lagos state and Nigeria at large to get their voters card in other to vote for their preferred candidates during the general election.

Similarly, Mrs Janefrancis-Chioma Okoro, the newly elected woman leader, said that her sole responsibility is to harmonise and promote peace among fellow Igbo women in Lagos state.

“I have taken this as part of my responsibility to foster peace, unity and progress among my fellow Igbo women across the city.

“I hereby, call on my fellow Igbo women to work closely to actualise our mission and vision for Ndigbo in Lagos state and Nigeria at large, ” she said.

According to her, she said that she established a school since the past few years and she has notified all parents to bring their children to school with the parent PVCs.

“Any parents that do not have PVCs, his or her children will not be allow to register for the new term.

“This is part of encouragement to ensure that all parent obtain their PVCs to participate in the voting exercise in the coming election in 2023, ” she said.

Also, Bar. Lawrence Kelechi-Nweke, the newly elected Legal Adviser, said that he would ensure that he mobilise all the Igbo youths in Lagos state to get their voters card ahead of 2023 elections.

“Your PVCs is your right and weapon, therefore, it is a most you get it.

“We community of Igbos in Lagos state are working hard to ensure that all Igbos get their PVC with ease.

“We are following up our people to ensure that they secure an enabling environment to register for their PVCs in Lagos state and beyond.

“It is important to obtain your PVC in order to vote for your preferred candidates during the general elections in 2023, “he said.

Earlier, Eze (Dr.) Okechukwu Anorue, the Eze-Ndigbo Igbogbo Baiyeku Kingdom and Bobagbimo of Igbogbo Kingdom congratulated all the newly elected executive.

Anorue tasked all the newly elected Ndigbo of Lagos state executives to stand up to their responsibilities and discharge it accordingly.

Although, I believed their magnanimity that they will deliver but they need to be pushed and encourage to do better than expected.

Anorue also appealed to all the Igbos across the nation to get their PVCs to vote in their preference.(NAN).(www.nannews.ng).
