The Ministry of Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation (MWAPA) has officially welcomed its newly appointed Permanent Secretary, Mrs. Rianat ‘Jibike Onigbanjo, signaling a new chapter in the Ministry’s leadership and its ongoing commitment to empowering women and alleviating poverty in Lagos State.
The Honourable Commissioner for Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Hon. Bolaji Cecilia, warmly received Mrs. Onigbanjo during her inaugural management meeting. The Commissioner offered her best wishes for a successful tenure and urged all management and staff to extend their full cooperation and dedication to the new Permanent Secretary towards ensuring a seamless continuation of the Ministry’s vital work.
Expressing her gratitude, Mrs. Onigbanjo conveyed her sincere appreciation to the Honourable Commissioner and the entire MWAPA team for the warm welcome. She pledged to maintain an open and inclusive leadership style, prioritizing efficiency and robust collaboration across all departments. Mrs. Onigbanjo also acknowledged the trust placed in her by the Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, in entrusting her with this significant role.
The management meeting that followed saw heads of various departments and units provide comprehensive briefings to the Permanent Secretary on their respective responsibilities, current projects, and strategic operational frameworks.
This initial engagement facilitated productive discussions focused on optimizing the Ministry’s effectiveness in achieving its core objectives.
