The medium was also used to reward the council boss Hon. Surah Olayemi Animashaun with the award of excellence as the most supportive chairman of the year.
The award was in recognition of her excellence performances on the health sector at the Lagos Health dDistrict III
The ‘World Health Day’, programme which was held at today at the Epe council Secretariat called for the presence of the State medical practitioners of the district, educationists, school administrators, the executives and the legislative arms of the local government and a host of others.
In her speech, the Permanent Secretary ministry of health district III
stated the importance of health in order to safe the lives of Lagosians, most especially women who face
timely deaths due to cervical cancer.

“Cervical cancer continues to be a major public health challenge. Not just globally, but right here in our district III alone, we have screened over 5,000 women in the past and a notable number were found to require follow-up care”

In an interview section, Hon. Surah Olayemi Animashaun expressed her gratitude to the people of Epe.

“I must sincerely thank the good people of Epe for their support so far. I’m very proud of them as they are of me”.
“I’m using this opportunity to thank the state government under the leadership of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for the great support they provide for the communities in Epe most particularly the women”.

Meanwhile, first aids boxes and other items were distributed to all primary schools in Epe area of Lagos State for health uses.
