Yaba, Lagos – May 28, 2025

In a time when many academic institutions across the nation are hiking tuition fees due to economic constraints, Comrade Ajao Adejoke, a respected student leader and advocate for educational equity, has publicly commended the management of Yaba College of Technology for its decision to maintain the current school fees for the ongoing academic session.

Speaking during an interview with student representatives on Tuesday, Comr. Ajao Adejoke praised the institution’s leadership for demonstrating empathy and prioritizing the welfare of students amidst the harsh economic realities facing Nigerian families.

_*“This singular act of consideration by the YABATECH management is not only timely but also deeply commendable,” she stated. “It shows that the institution is not only concerned about academic excellence but also about the financial well-being of its students. In a system where students often struggle to balance academics with economic pressure, this decision comes as a breath of fresh air.”*_

Known for her unwavering advocacy for students’ rights and access to affordable education, Comr. Ajao lauded the college’s governing council, Rector, and entire administrative body for taking what she described as a “progressive and people-centered approach.”

She further highlighted that the decision not to increase fees will significantly ease the burden on many students, especially those from low-income backgrounds who rely on part-time jobs, scholarships, or family support to fund their education.
