Lagostrendradiotv are expressing anger and disbelief after students of Unity Model School in Asaba, Delta State, were forced to write their #WAEC examination at night using torchlights due to power outage and exam delays.
The exam, which was scheduled to begin at 2:00 PM, reportedly didn’t start until around 6:00 PM due to late delivery of question papers. With no electricity in the school, students had no choice but to rely on torchlights to complete their papers in the dark.
The incident has sparked national outrage, with the National Association of Polytechnic Students (NAPS) labeling it a “national disgrace” and a “moral calamity.” NAPS President, Comrade Eshiofune Paul Oghayan, is calling for an immediate investigation by #WAEC and the #FederalMinistryOfEducation.
Critics say such conditions not only compromise the integrity of the examination process but also show a lack of basic infrastructure and planning in the education sector.
This shocking development highlights the ongoing challenges in Nigeria’s education system and raises urgent questions about student welfare and accountability.
