Barely hours after High-Chief Musiliudeen Kadri Odedeogboro was installed as the Olu-Epe of Epe Kingdom, a fresh twist emerged in the ancient town as a factional monarch, High-Chief Olajide Iskilu Ikuforiji, also laid claim to the revered throne.
High-Chief Ikuforiji was installed as the Olu-Epe in a separate ceremony at the Epe Central Mosque, same venue Odedeogboro was installed earlier today.
Speaking with Lagostrend Reporter , Ikuforiji insisted that he is the rightful heir to the stool. According to him, he was the Balogun of Epe Kingdom and was next in line to succeed the late Oba Sefiu Adewale Eshinlokun.
He argued that due process was not followed in the installation of Odedeogboro and vowed to defend what he described as his legitimate right to the throne.
Ikuforiji’s installation was witnessed by a large Mammoth crowd of Epe sons and daughters who trooped to the central mosque to witness the history making occasion.

Meanwhile, the emergence of rival kings has sparked tension in the town.
