The elders of Epe Kingdom,who are in their nineties ( 90s), the Olu- Akin of Epe Kingdom,Alhaji (Chief) Moshood Olayinka Ibishomi; The Family Head of Kaka and the head of Popo Oba Community, Alhaji Olayiwola Adio Kaka; and Alakoso Adinin of 1st Epe Central Mosque, Oke Balogun, Alhaji Wahab Oladipupo Amuni,in a separate interviews with Journalists on Tuesday,June 3,2025, supported the process that produced High- Chief Kadri Adeniyi Odedeogboro,as the new Olu Epe of Epe Kingdom.
They explained that, since inception, Mogaji Ngeri,who is the Prime Minister,must announce the new Olu Epe and the elected chief ,who is usually the Balogun, being the highest in hierarchy to the monarch.
” Odedeogboro is the Balogun until the demise of Olu Epe,Oba Adewale .The other man challenging his election,has been suspended and he was nowhere to be found in the last seven years or there about. So, Odedeogboro being the serving Balogun till the demise of HRM Oba Shefiu Olatunji Adewale, remains the authentic Balogun of this Kingdom and by that virtue,his election as the new Olu Epe,is the best and right decision as far as our tradition in Eko Epe is concerned” High-Chief Ibishomi stated.
They revealed that the decision is final and nothing can draw the community back. They later advised all the sons and daughters of Epe Kingdom to rally round their new monarch, while advising the Olu Epe-Elect,to accommodate all and to carry the people along in his action.
