Epe (Lagos State), June 12, 2025 (NAN) Mr Monsuru Akinloye, Chairman, Eredo Local Council Development Area (LCDA) in Lagos State, has called on Nigerians to be patriotic citizens and to support the renewed hope agenda of President Bola Tinubu.
Akinloye made this passionate appeal during the commemoration of Democracy Day held in Eredo-Epe on Thursday.
He emphasized that patriotism and unity remain the cornerstone of national development and democratic sustainability.
According to him, President Tinubu’s administration is committed to rebuilding Nigeria’s economy, strengthening institutions, and ensuring social justice.
He encouraged citizens to contribute positively by upholding the rule of law, engaging in community development, and promoting peaceful coexistence.
“We must not lose faith in our country. The renewed hope agenda is a strategic blueprint for national transformation.
“Its success depends largely on the collective support of all Nigerians.
“As a local government, we are aligned with this vision and are working tirelessly to implement grassroots initiatives that complement federal efforts, ” he said.
The chairman mentioned various projects embarked upon within the council area including; road rehabilitation, youth empowerment schemes, educational support programs.
Others as; health initiatives designed to improve the quality of life for residents.
He further urged traditional rulers, community leaders, religious institutions, and civil society organizations to foster unity and national consciousness, especially among the youth.
“Democracy Day is not just a public holiday. It is a solemn reminder of our shared responsibility to protect and nurture the gains of our democracy,” he said.
Akinloye reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to inclusive governance and grassroots participation.
