The Chairman of Epe Local Government, Hon. (Princess) Surah Olayemi Animashaun, on Monday, rolled out an unprecedented Mega Empowerment Programme for residents of the council where the beneficiaries received Tricycles, Industrial sewing machines, Modern hair dryers, Grinding Machines, Fishing nets & life jackets, Large-capacity coolers and Assorted soft drinks and bottled water.
The empowerment initiative held at the Epe Local Government Secretariat underscores the Chairman’s enduring mantra: “People First. Progress Always”.
Princess Animashaun said that the empowerment tools presented to the beneficiaries would go a long way in elevating local enterprises and stimulating sustainable economic growth across the council and beyond. “These tools were thoughtfully selected to enhance productivity, promote self-reliance, and create fresh streams of income for hardworking residents of Epe,” she stated.
Princess Animashaun thanked the people of Epe for their enduring trust and overwhelming support, pledging to continue championing programmes that directly impact lives and stimulate inclusive development.
“This empowerment programme is not a one-off gesture; it is a continuation of our vision to uplift lives, stimulate the local economy, and ensure that no hardworking resident of Epe is left behind,” she affirmed.
Expressing his appreciation to the Chairman, one of the beneficiaries of the empowerment initiative who received a new tricycle, Mr. Raymond Oladapo Eturugo, said: “This is more than just a tricycle, this is a new beginning for me and my family”.
He recalled how he had struggled to make ends meet over the years, expressing hope of a better life with the new tricycle. “Hon. Princess Surah has given me not just a means of livelihood, but a renewed hope in a government that truly cares for the people. I will forever be grateful”, he quipped.
The event attracted a distinguished gathering of political stalwarts and respected community figures, including the Epe Divisional Leader and Member of the Lagos State Governance Advisory Council (GAC), Alhaji Akanni Seriki Bamu; Former Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly and GAC Member, Rt. Hon. Adeyemi Ikuforiji; Member, House of Representatives representing Epe Federal Constituency, Hon. Wale Raji; Member, Lagos State House of Assembly for Epe Constituency I, Hon. Abiodun Tobun.
Also present were religious leaders, community development committee members, youth representatives, and other grassroots stakeholders.
