The Alara of Ilara Kingdom, Oba Olufolarin Ogunsanwo, on Sunday, rounded off his 5th coronation anniversary with a thanksgiving service, graced by dignitaries and entertained by music icon, King Sunny Ade.
The thanksgiving took place at a catholic church in Ilara, in Epe Division.
Ogunsanwo expressed gratitude to God and the Ilara community for their unflinching support throughout his five-year reign.
He said that the anniversary celebration was a collective achievement, noting that peace, unity, and development had been recorded in the kingdom.
The traditional ruler also charged chieftaincy title holders to see their positions as a call to service rather than privilege.
He urged them to contribute meaningfully to the progress of the kingdom and upliftment of its people.
Similarly, Prof. John Obafunwa commended the Alara for his visionary leadership, which he said had brought medical, educational, and socio-economic development to Ilara and its environs.
He assured of continued collaboration with the palace in community-focused initiatives.
Mr Monsuru Akinloye, Chairman, Eredo Local Council Development Area, applauded the Alara for fostering unity and development within the kingdom.
He pledged the council’s continued support to ensure that the traditional institution remains a strong pillar of growth and stability in the community.

Our reporter added that the event was attended by the Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, the Lagos State Chief of Staff, Mr Tayo Ayinde, Chairman of Eredo LCDA, Mr Monsuru Akinloye, Prof. John Obafunwa, Mr Segun Osifeko, and Governor Adversary Council (G.A.C) member, Mr Akanni Seriki, among others.
