Lagostrend report that On Saturday August 16th, 2025 will forever remain indelible in the minds of the sons and daughters of Ilara Kingdom in Eredo Local Council Development Area of Lagos State.
This is because the amiable King, His Royal Majesty, Alayeluwa Oba Olufolarin Ogunsanwo, Alara of Ilara, is celebrating his 5th coronation anniversary on the throne of his forefathers, in a grand style.
Highlights of the day’s include prayers from notable Clerics which were offered at the Alara’s palace, located at the Ilara Kingdom. The prayer were for the country, the state, and Ilara Kingdom and to wish the Kabiyesi long life and prosperity to witness many more years on the throne.
The Ilara people knew they are blessed with a king who hail from a royal pedigree of moral uprightness.
This honorable recognition was bestowed by His Royal Majesty, Oba Olufolarin Olukayode Ogunsanwo, Alara of Ilara Kingdom, in celebration of their outstanding service, dedication to community development, and unwavering support for cultural heritage.

Among the prominent individuals and couple that were conferred with honorary chieftaincy title were Ambassador Oluwatoyin Kayode Lawal and Chief.Mrs Abiodun Lawal who described Oba Olufolarin Ogunsanwo as a legendary that the celebration was due to a lot of peace, social tranquility, development and transformation serving as a bridge between the affluent and the less privileged across the country.
The Former Deputy High Commissioner and His wife said Oba Olufolarin co-operation with successive governments in the state to promote inter-ethnic relationship has ushered in a lot of investment drives in the community. He is well endowed and revered by the community and state.
