“At the unveiling of the Multipurpose Auditorium at LASU Epe Campus, Alade Raji, Vice Chairman of the Epe Division Forum, urged indigenes to embrace the principle of ‘Charity at Home.’”

The unveiling of the newly commissioned Multipurpose Auditorium at Lagos State University (LASU), Epe Campus, provided not only a moment of celebration but also an opportunity for reflection, as Mrs. Olushola Alade Raji, Vice Chairman of the Epe Division Forum, delivered a stirring call to action to the people of Epe.

Speaking with Lagostrend during unveiling ceremony, Mrs. Alade Raji emphasized the need for Epe indigenes to adopt the principle of “Charity at Home” as a guiding philosophy for community development. According to her, meaningful progress can only be achieved when individuals and groups within the community prioritize supporting one another, strengthening local institutions, and investing in Epe’s human capital.

She commended Honorable Olatunji Bello for his vision and commitment towards the infrastructural growth of LASU’s Epe Campus, describing the commissioning of the auditorium as a landmark achievement that will serve generations of students and scholars.

“Today is not just about unveiling a structure; it is about setting a standard for what Epe can achieve when we unite behind a common purpose. If we must build a stronger, more prosperous Epe, then we must begin by extending charity, support, and solidarity first at home — to our people, our youth, and our institutions,” Mrs. Alade Raji stated.

“Tunji Bello may not be from Epe, yet he believes that all his efforts are ultimately for the progress of Lagos State. This is truly commendable, and I encourage more sons and daughters of Lagos to emulate his example,” she said.

She further recalled the project executed by the late philanthropist S.L. Edu at LASU Ojo, acknowledging its positive impact, while emphasizing the importance of Epe indigenes also prioritizing their home community in developmental initiatives.

She urged prominent sons and daughters of Epe to emulate this spirit of giving back, noting that homegrown philanthropy and collective responsibility remain the bedrock of sustainable development.

The event, attended by dignitaries, traditional leaders, academics, and community stakeholders, marked a significant milestone for LASU’s Epe Campus. It also underscored the broader vision of fostering education, culture, and progress in the Division.

The Epe Division Forum reiterated its commitment to partnering with leaders, institutions, and organizations that share the vision of uplifting Epe and ensuring that future generations inherit a legacy of growth, unity, and opportunity.
