In commemoration of Ìṣẹ̀ṣe Day 2025, the Leader of the House, Epe Local Government Legislative Council, Hon. Araba Taofeeq Adesoye, has joined millions of Yoruba sons and daughters across the globe in celebrating the richness of African culture, traditions, and ancestral wisdom.
Hon. Araba described Ìṣẹ̀ṣe Day as a sacred reminder of the enduring values, spiritual depth, and cultural heritage that have shaped the Yoruba nation for centuries. He emphasized that the day is not only about festivities but also about reconnecting with the wisdom of the forebears, promoting unity, and preserving traditions for future generations.
“Ìṣẹ̀ṣe Day is a celebration of our roots and identity. It is a call to return to the values of respect, communal living, and moral uprightness which our ancestors upheld. As custodians of culture, we must continue to protect and promote our traditions so that our children and generations unborn will inherit a strong cultural foundation,” he said.
The lawmaker further stressed the importance of cultural tolerance and peaceful coexistence in Nigeria’s multi-religious society, noting that Ìṣẹ̀ṣe is not in conflict with other faiths, but rather a vital expression of indigenous spirituality, history, and knowledge.
Hon. Araba also reaffirmed his commitment to supporting initiatives that promote Yoruba culture, language, and heritage, especially among young people, so as to prevent cultural erosion in the face of modern influences.
The celebration of Ìṣẹ̀ṣe Day continues to gain recognition as state governments and communities in Yorubaland devote the occasion to traditional worship, festivals, and reflection on African identity.
Hon. Araba congratulated traditional rulers, cultural leaders, and devotees across the country, urging them to use the occasion to strengthen unity and inspire positive values in society.
