
Lagostrend report that the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT), Epe Branch, has honoured H.E. Hon. (Dr.) Naheem Abiodun Balogun with an Award of Excellence and Recognition in acknowledgement of his contributions, support and commitment to the advancement of education and the teaching profession.
The award was presented to Hon. Balogun on Monday, October 5, 2026, during the World Teachers’ Day Celebration organised by the NUT, Epe Branch.
According to the presentation, the recognition was in appreciation of his reported contributions and support towards education, teachers and human capital development within Epe and beyond.
The organisers also highlighted his involvement in community-oriented initiatives, empowerment and interventions aimed at supporting residents and strengthening opportunities at the grassroots.
The recognition further drew attention to the importance of people-centred public service, investment in human capital and sustained support for education as key components of community development.
Speaking on the significance of the honour, Comrade Olaniyi M.O., Imole Apex Secretary, Epe, described the award as a recognition of Hon. Balogun’s commitment to public service and his support for initiatives connected to education and community development.
He noted that the honour goes beyond the presentation of a plaque, stressing that it serves as a reminder of the responsibility attached to service and the need to continue supporting initiatives that positively affect people at the grassroots.
The World Teachers’ Day celebration also provided an opportunity to recognise the contributions of teachers to society and to highlight the importance of improved support for the teaching profession.
The presentation of the award to Hon. Balogun added another significant moment to the celebration, as colleagues, community members and well-wishers joined in congratulating him on the recognition.
