In a bold move aimed at fostering community growth, His Royal Majesty, Oba Alayeluwa Saheed Ademola Elegushi, Kusenla III Foundation has announced a generous allocation of N200 million to support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and students in the Eti-Osa area of Lagos State. This empowerment drive coincides with the 15-year anniversary of His Royal Majesty, Oba Saheed Ademola Elegushi’s reign as the Elegushi of Ikateland.
A statement from the Palace, signed by Temitope Oyefeso, Special Assistant on Public Affairs to His Majesty, detailed that the initiative is designed to provide crucial financial assistance and resources to local entrepreneurs and students. “Our objective is to stimulate economic growth and enhance educational opportunities by supporting innovation, entrepreneurship, and academic excellence,” Oyefeso said.
Oba Elegushi, who has long been a champion for sustainable development in Lagos State, expressed his unwavering commitment to uplifting the community. “As I celebrate 15 years on the throne, I am continuing the tradition of giving back to the society that has supported me. This initiative is a testament to my belief in the potential of our youth and the resilience of our entrepreneurs. Together, we can build a brighter future for our communities,” he declared.
The initiative not only marks a significant milestone in Oba Elegushi’s reign but also underscores the foundation’s dedication to driving positive change in Eti-Osa. A planning committee, headed by Lagos lawyer Dr. Muiz Banire, is working diligently to ensure the success of the anniversary celebrations, which will span from 18 – 27 April 2025. The festivities will include a public presentation of a book on the history of the Ikate-Elegushi kingdom, conferment of honorary chieftaincy titles on eminent Nigerians, a cultural festival, and an anniversary banquet.
Installed as the 21st Elegushi of Ikate Kingdom on 27 April 2010, Oba Saheed Elegushi continues to leverage his leadership to inspire growth and prosperity across Lagos State.
