Members of the Lagos State House of Assembly have declared President Bola Tinubu as the best thing to happen to Nigerians, praising his leadership and the impact of his administration’s policies.
During plenary on Thursday, lawmakers lauded the President’s governance, emphasizing that he took office at a crucial time when the nation was at a socio-economic crossroads before the 2023 elections.
Hon. Tobun Abiodun (Epe I), who raised the motion, emphasized that Tinubu’s policies have started yielding significant benefits within less than two years. He highlighted that the nation’s GDP had increased due to the President’s economic expertise, which also contributed to the strengthening of the Naira.
“Currently, the policies are yielding positive results, and the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) has increased. The value of the Naira is gradually gaining strength. There is no more fuel scarcity in the country. We need to encourage the federal government to continue on the good path it started two years ago,” Hon. Tobun said.
The Majority Leader of the House, Hon. Adewale Temitope (Ifako-Ijaiye I), added that Tinubu’s strategic policies demonstrate his preparedness for leadership. He pointed out that operational refineries have contributed to a reduction in the price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), benefiting citizens.
Hon. Gbolahan Yishawu (Etim Osa II) commended the President’s efforts in enhancing national security and curbing inflation. Similarly, Hon. Aro Moshood (Ikorodu II) lauded Tinubu for increasing the minimum wage and attracting over $40 million in foreign investments, further boosting Nigeria’s economic stability.
Speaker Mojisola Meranda expressed unwavering confidence in Tinubu’s leadership, stating, “I know President Tinubu will take us to the Promised Land. When he started, it was rough, but it is becoming obvious that his policies are producing tangible results.”
She further acknowledged Tinubu’s commitment to national security, noting a significant decline in insecurity across the country. As a gesture of appreciation, she directed the acting Clerk of the House, Abubakar Taiwo Ottun, to send a commendation letter to the President, recognizing his impactful policies and programs.
