At about 10am on Monday, 17th February 2025, armed operatives of the Department of State Security, DSS, and the Nigeria Police, stormed the premises the Lagos State House of Assembly.
The operatives also sealed up the offices of the Speaker, Mojisola Meranda, her deputy and clerk of the house at Alausa, Ikeja.
However, Meranda, arrived with her convoy at about 11.15am.
The incidence remained connected to the ongoing battle between the former Speaker of the House, Mudashiru Obasa and the 32 out of the 40 members of the state Assembly that impeached him.
Obasa had sued the state lawmakers on his impeachment on January 13, 2025 and challenging his removal as the Speaker of the Assembly in a motion filed at the Ikeja Division of the State High Court.
He is also seeking an accelerated hearing of his suit.
