Give Speaker/Senate President positions to females – Oyefusi

The Deputy Gubernatorial Candidate of Labour Party in Lagos State, Princess Abiodun Oyefusi has called for the zoning of the Speaker of the House of Representatives/Senate President to a Female Gender in the 10th Assembly.
Princess Abiodun stated this while speaking on the role of women in political participation and country’s development with newsmen in Lagos State. The Politician explain that this will substantiate the reality of running an inclusive government. She added that such action will be described as a show of peace and understanding for the country’s democracy to thrive.
The Woman Advocate further explained that it is important to uphold the provisions of the national gender policy and be intentionally gender inclusive. Therefore, he urged politicians to respect the judgment on the implementation of the National Equality Policy made by Hon. Judge Donatus Okorowo of the Federal Court.
“I take this opportunity to urge all elected legislators to split the positions of Speaker of the House/President of the Senate among women in the 10th Assembly. “Note that this will confirm the reality of inclusive government.
“In fact, this action is described as a demonstration of peace and understanding of the development of democracy in the country. The women’s advocate further explained that it is important to comply with the provisions of the National Equality Directive and to be gender sensitive.
“Politicians should respect the judgment on the implementation of the National Equality Policy made by Hon. Judge Donatus Okorowo of the Federal Supreme Court. She says.
