Erstwhile Archbishop of Lagos, Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion), Archbishop Ephraim Ademowo, has said that Nigeria definitely will bounce back, adding that beyond the tunnel, there is light, hope and a better tomorrow.
Speaking exclusively with our correspondent, in Epe, Lagos State, South-West, Nigeria Wednesday, shortly after the 90th birthday anniversary thanksgiving service, held in honour of Madam Christianah Oluleye Ambode, mother of the immediate past Governor of Lagos, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode, held at the St. Michael’s Anglican Church, the Dean Emeritus, stressed that we should keep on praying for our nation.
According to him, the incoming 16th Nigeria President, Senator Bola Tinubu, is going to effect a turn around because he did it in Lagos State. So, he is going to do more at the national level.
Asked to assess the outgoing President, Muhammadu Buhari’s tenure vis-à-vis human and capital development, Ademowo, noted that Buhari, has tried his best and is “transparently honest,” in the discharge of his duties.
Said he: “President Buhari, has tried his best. He’s done a lot of infrastructure and it is not easy to rule Nigeria. So, I will give him a credit! He’s done well.”
Continuing, he said: “I don’t like condemning people. There are people who don’t see good in others. This man has tried his best and Buhari, is transparently honest. He will never steal, he will never amass wealth. So, we thank God for what God as used him to do.”
On his expectations from the incoming President, Senator Bola Tinubu, Ademowo, stated that “we are waiting.” The man will deliver the goods. He will take us to the promise land.
