Officers of the Ikorodu command of the Lagos State Neighborhood Safety Agency attached to Grammer school beat today arrested a couple for child abuse at No 4/5 oreagba street, Olowu CDA, Grammer school, Ikorodu Lagos.
The suspects Mrs Abanishe Temitope (F), 35yrs old and her hubby Mr Abanishe Taofeek (M) were alledged to be constantly abusing 15yrs old Male child (Names withheld) for about of 18months.
The suspects and the victim were brought to the Ikorodu command base by the Officers attach to Grammar School beat in company of two CDA Chairmen one Mr Rasaq Bisiriyu the chairman of ojoru/Osholigbeyin CDA, Alhaji Ase – olorun the chairman of ojoru/Olowu CDA and Mr Kabiru a member of the community.
The suspect in their confessional statement affirmed the accusation of child abuse but pleaded for mercy.
The victim was taken to Ita-elewa primary health center for first aid treatment while the case has been transferred to Ikorodu Police Division, Igbogbo road for further investigation and other actions.
Prince Ifalade Oyekan FISN, the General Manager of the Lagos State Neighborhood Safety Agency commended members of the contiguous CDAs for their vigilance, while he reiterated the commitment of the Lagos State Government under the leadership of Mr Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu to reduce all forms of abuses in the state.
