The Ibile Eko Summit Foundation has extended warm congratulations to Professor Nosiru Olajide Onibon on his well-deserved appointment as the Pioneer Rector of the Bola Ahmed Tinubu Federal Polytechnic, Abuja.
In a congratulatory message, the Foundation described the appointment as a fitting recognition of Professor Onibon’s remarkable academic accomplishments, visionary leadership, and unwavering dedication to the advancement of education in Nigeria.
According to the Foundation, Prof. Onibon has consistently distinguished himself as an outstanding scholar and institution builder whose legacy of excellence is evident across the various academic institutions where he has served. His tenure as Provost of Michael Otedola College of Primary Education (MOCPED), Noforija, Epe, was particularly noted for strengthening academic standards, enhancing institutional development, and repositioning the college for greater relevance within Nigeria’s teacher education system.
The Foundation also highlighted his historic role as the Pioneer Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Lagos State University of Education (LASUED) following the transformation of Adeniran Ogunsanya College of Education (AOCOED) and MOCPED into a full-fledged university. In that role, Prof. Onibon was instrumental in laying solid administrative and academic foundations that continue to guide the growth and stability of the institution.
The Ibile Eko Summit Foundation further recalled his inspiring appearance as Guest Speaker and Awardee at the Launching of The GRACE Foundation and the 40th Birthday Celebration of Mr. Musa Gbolahan Rasaki, held on September 27, 2025, at the Lagos State University of Education, Odo-Noforija Campus, Epe. His lecture at the event was described as intellectually enriching and motivational, leaving lasting impressions on students, scholars, and community leaders in attendance.
Describing the new appointment as both timely and deserving, the Foundation expressed confidence that Prof. Onibon will deploy his vast experience in academic administration, policy direction, and institutional development to build the Bola Ahmed Tinubu Federal Polytechnic, Abuja into a centre of excellence for technological innovation and national development.
The Foundation prayed for God’s guidance, wisdom, strength, and good health for the distinguished scholar as he assumes the important responsibility of leading the institution and shaping its future.
