
The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Benue State has been thrown into mourning following a tragic road accident that claimed the lives of three dedicated party members who were on their way to attend the North Central Zonal Congress in Lafia, Nasarawa State.
The victims, identified as Hon. Anawo Benjamin, Hon. Ogbe Enemari, and Hon. Abraham Enenche, reportedly died on the spot after the unfortunate incident occurred along the Makurdi–Lafia expressway on Wednesday, March 25, 2026. Several other passengers sustained varying degrees of injuries and are currently receiving treatment at the Benue State University Teaching Hospital (BSUTH) in Makurdi.
In a show of compassion and leadership, Hyacinth Alia visited the injured victims at the hospital, assuring them of the state government’s commitment to providing quality medical care and necessary support during their recovery.
The tragic development has elicited heartfelt reactions from political leaders and stakeholders. Abba Moro expressed deep sorrow over the loss, describing the deceased as committed party loyalists whose contributions will not be forgotten. Similarly, Daniel Onjeh extended his condolences to the bereaved families, praying for strength and comfort during this difficult time.
The APC family across the North Central region has continued to receive messages of sympathy, as party faithful reflect on the sacrifices of the fallen members. The incident serves as a solemn reminder of the risks associated with travel and the importance of road safety, even as the nation mourns the loss of these promising leaders.
