Late Engr. Funso Williams was brutally murdered by suspected hired assassins on Thursday, July 27, 2006, at his residence in Dolphin Estate, Ikoyi, Lagos, in a tragic incident that shocked the nation and left an indelible mark on Nigeria’s political landscape.
Widely regarded as a distinguished engineer, accomplished administrator, and respected politician, Funso Williams was admired for his humility, integrity, and unwavering commitment to the development of Lagos State. Many supporters remember him as a visionary leader whose passion for public service inspired hope for a better future.
As Nigerians reflect on his life two decades after his untimely death, many continue to describe him as a God-fearing gentleman whose ideals of selfless leadership, transparency, and dedication to the people remain worthy of emulation.
