Edo Governor Okpebholo Criticises Adeleke, Says Osun Needs ‘Leadership, Not Dancing’

 

Lagostrend report that Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, has taken a swipe at Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, criticising what he described as the governor’s frequent public dancing and questioning his leadership performance.

Speaking during a political engagement in Osun State, Governor Okpebholo alleged that Governor Adeleke spends more time entertaining than governing, claiming the state deserves focused leadership.

According to Okpebholo, Adeleke dances before carrying out official duties and has allegedly failed to actively participate in important meetings of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum due to his priorities. He further argued that Osun State requires a leader who is fully committed to governance and development.

The Edo governor also criticised the condition of roads in Osun State, stating that his convoy experienced a rough journey into the state, which he said reflected the need for improved infrastructure.

In his remarks, Okpebholo said Governor Adeleke had “danced for four years” and urged the people of Osun State to vote for a new direction in the forthcoming governorship election.

The comments have since generated reactions across political circles, with supporters and critics of both governors debating the remarks on social media.

Governor Adeleke has not publicly responded to the statements at the time of this report.
