Renowned businessman and investment expert Farooq Oreagba, popularly known as Mr. Steeze, has shared the remarkable story of his financial rise, devastating fall and eventual change in perspective, reminding people that wealth is temporary but life and purpose are priceless.
Speaking during an appearance on Ebuka Obi-Uchendu’s MENtality Show, Oreagba disclosed that he became a dollar millionaire at the age of 30 but found himself working as a labourer in England just five years later after losing his banking job.
According to him, the sudden reversal forced him to reassess his priorities and taught him one of the greatest lessons of his life.
> “I was a dollar millionaire at 30; at 35, I was working as a labourer in England. I lost my job as a banker. To maintain that lifestyle, I was hustling and doing all kinds of stuff. I had my priorities wrong,” he said.
Oreagba explained that many people devote their lives to chasing money and material possessions, often neglecting their health, purpose and relationships. He stressed that no amount of wealth can replace the value of life, urging people to focus on what truly matters.
The businessman noted that financial success can disappear unexpectedly, but resilience, wisdom and the ability to rebuild remain invaluable assets. He encouraged individuals not to define their self-worth by their financial status or career achievements.
