Epe (Lagos State), June 22, 2025 (NAN) Ms. Surah Animashaun, Chairman, Epe Local Government, has urged all eligible residents of the community to come out in large numbers to exercise their civic responsibility during the forthcoming chairmanship election scheduled for July 12.
Animashaun made this call on Sunday during an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Epe.
She emphasized the importance of active participation in the electoral process as a vital means to strengthen grassroots governance and enhance democratic dividends.
“I sincerely appeal to all residents of Epe to participate fully in the July 12 local government elections.
“Your vote is your voice, and it is the key to shaping the future of our community,” she said.
The council boss reaffirmed her administration’s commitment to free, fair, and peaceful elections.
She noted that adequate security arrangements have been put in place in collaboration with law enforcement agencies to ensure a hitch-free process.
Animashaun also appealed to political parties and their supporters to conduct themselves peacefully before, during, and after the elections.
She said that violence and electoral malpractice would not be condoned.
She encouraged youths, women, and first-time voters not to be discouraged by past challenges, but to view the election as a golden opportunity to contribute to the growth and development of Epe.
She further reiterated the readiness of the local government authority to continue providing responsive leadership that prioritizes infrastructure, youth empowerment, health care, and education, in line with the aspirations of the people.(NAN).(www nannews.ng).
